Horizon Networks is recruiting for a Line Mechanic to join our growing team in Pukekohe. This position is permanent full-time, 40 hours per week.

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Installing, repairing and maintaining overhead and underground distribution systems.
  • Assisting our streetlighting team in delivering projects and maintenance contracts.
  • Build strong long term relationships with our customers ensuring they see Horizon Networks as a preferred supplier with excellent customer service and technical support.

To be successful, a candidate must have the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant qualification experience in directly relevant activities
  • Familiar with distribution systems and associated procedures up to and including 33kV
  • Knowledge of tree compliance regulations and vegetation management procedures desirable
  • Knowledge of all relevant industry rules and regulations including the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015
  • Knowledge of streetlight maintenance is an advantage
  • Strong lines construction skills with a focus on safety
  • Practical skills, including the ability to use and care for equipment
  • Must be comfortable working at heights
  • Ability to read and understand plans and maps
  • General knowledge of traffic management requirements is desirable
  • Current Unrestricted Manual NZ Driver Licence
  • Heavy vehicle license is preferable.
