Horizon Networks is recruiting for a High Voltage Electrician/ Cable Jointer to join our growing team in Whakatane. This position is permanent full-time, 40 hours per week.

Reporting to the Technical Services Supervisor , you will be responsible to:

• To provide field based technical and Electrical services for Network & Third-Party clients including maintenance and projects.
• To provide specialist HV & LV jointing services for the installation, maintenance and repair of transmission and distribution cables.
• Installation works on Substations equipment, ground mount switchgear and Transformers
• To Undertake Electrical Distribution Faults & repairs for the network
• Undertake stay away works as requested by the business from time to time

To be successful, a candidate must have the following qualifications, experience and skills:

Qualifications

• Registered Electrician 2 Years' experience
• Distribution Line Mechanic Qualification desirable
• HV Cable Jointer Qualification desirable
• Current Manual NZ Drivers Licence
• Current Class 2 Full Licence
• Current Class 4 Full Licence Desirable and Expectation once employed
• Good understanding of network operating systems
• Thorough knowledge of and ability to maintain, transformers and switchgear rated from 400V to 33kV
• Experience in jointing XLPE cables up to 33kV and polymeric and/or paper lead up to 11kV would be preferred.
• Live jointing of LV cables
• Installation of LV pillars, distribution transformers, Ring Main Units and Switchgear
